We try to keep the best and most complete software, rather than concentrating on one specific hardware manufacturer's software or a specifc software feature. However, other more targeted software will be used if it has been specifically requested or it has a specialist function that requires it to be used.

Acquisition software

QPS QINSy 7

To acquire the multibeam data NetSurvey have chosen QPS QINSy as their acquisition software of choice. This software integrates with all Reson systems, Simrad EM3000, ELAC 1000 series and the Tritech Seaking mechanical profilers, thus covering nearly all the systems we use.

Our personnel can also use Hypack Max, Eiva Naviscan, Simrad Merlin, ELAC Hydrostar (Reson 6042 is QINSy ver 6.6 so they can obviously use that).

Processing Software

CARIS HIPS

We use CARIS HIPS for combining all the sensors as well as sound velocity and tidal adjustments and some basic data cleaning. As nearly all of our projects involve mounting multibeams on vessels of opportunity, it is essential that we know at the earliest opportunity if there is a motion or environmental artefact in the data. HIPS is the best tool for isolating and analysing individual sensors while viewing the data as a whole.

Fledermaus

We are constantly seeing data sizes increase exponentialy on projects and Fledermaus with it's PFM file architecture is uniquely placed to work with these very large datasets. The software will import directly the HIPS and QPS processed files so preserving all the previously deleted points but enables us to speed up our processing by it's intuitive nature and greater file access speeds.

Fledermaus also enables us to drape the processed backscatter data over the bathymteric DTM, or if on route surveys, to combine the bathy and the backscatter with the sub-bottom data acquired by other parties on board the vessel. This allows the on-board geo to have true 3D data fusion at individual resolutions to maximise their interpretive skills.

Along with HIPS and Fledermaus we have also used the processing capabilities of QINSy (normally on ROV based surveys), Simrad's Neptune software, Hysweep, Terramodel and ELAC HDPPost and Edit software
