One of the main sources of error when conducting multibeam surveys from ROVs is the timing of the data producing artfacts in the bathymetry. Finding out what the latency is has not been easy. The way it used to be calcuated was to extract the roll data and an outer beam value and compare the two. If they correlate then there is latency in the system. The roll timing is then adjusted to eliminate the correlation and therefore the artefact. With Qimera 1.1 you can look at any combinatation of sensors and results and then use the tools inside Qimera to eliminate the latency.
